The Purchasing/Inventory Management Lead is responsible for a variety of purchasing functions to ensure accurate processing and timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet the requirements of all Winter Park Resort Divisions and is responsible for inventory control of all materials and equipment processed through the Resort central warehouse. Assists with the support of company operations by utilizing sound methods of procurement in order to provide an uninterrupted flow of materials and services. Administers D365 SYSTEM for purchasing for Winter Park Resort. Responsible for daily warehouse operations, which includes material receipt, storage, disbursement, cycle counting, material shipment, company pick ups and deliveries.

Also responsible for purchasing and warehouse administration, overseeing purchasing and inventory agents, and following best practice for warehousing under the guidance of the Director of Asset Management. Directs the activities of the Inventory Management section in fulfillment of Division and company Goals and Objectives and is responsible for administrating Winter Park Resort policies and procedures. Complies with the Privacy Policy, Standards of Business practices, OSHA, DOT and local Fire Marshall.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and performs purchasing business functions, and warehousing of parts and supplies maintaining a necessary and available level of maintenance parts in accordance with established levels of authority and WPR guidelines to insure a continuous maintenance workflow.
  • Budget preparation and control. Goal and Objective preparation and compliance.
  • Procurement of materials, equipment, or services by assisting with establishing procurement plans and procurement decisions; reviewing, editing and approving purchase requisitions through D365; placing orders, determining appropriate methods of shipment and distribution.
  • Coordinates with department EAM specialists to insure proper levels of parts inventory. Communicates with Alterra purchasing and procurement representatives to insure economies of scale and efficient pricing is achieved.
  • Receives incoming shipments, review invoice discrepancies and correct as needed.
  • Maintain files including packing slips and reports.
  • Performs cost/benefit analyses; locates, selects, and maintains lists of potential sources of supply; evaluates competitive offerings; conducts supplier visits and evaluations; measures supplier performance using rating systems
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal departments and suppliers
  • Consults with departments regarding purchases and recommends alternate sources or products when in the best interest of the department. Provides information regarding products, pricing, availability and contract prices.
  • Monitors invoices and advises Accounts Payable on payment instructions for materials/services and invoice discrepancies.
  • Manages all warehouse operations including D365 inventory transactions.
  • Manage and coordinate the centralized warehousing of commonly needed items used by vehicle, lift, building and electrical maintenance and office supplies.
  • Coordinates the dispersment of items to additional on mountain warehouse locations, and maintains the integrity of these locations.
  • Maintains inventory levels. Researches the history of inventory levels for items in the warehouse and coordinates lead times in order to maintain adequate supplies and equipment. Consults with departments in order to obtain working knowledge of their specific needs and supply requirements
  • Coordinates completion of regular cycle counts and annual inventory with all required reports.
  • Insures warehouse security and control of inventory.
  • Prepares BU charges for UPS, Fed EX and shipping vendors and bills to appropriate accounts and creates appropriate purchasing order.
  • Conducts business in an ethical manner towards all suppliers and employees.
  • Provide a safe work environment ensuring a clean, orderly work place and compliance with all state and federal safety regulations and WPR Driver’s Standards Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and purchasing related software required (JDE).
  • Has a status of JDE Super User & Trainer
  • Competent in the operation of Postage machine, FAX machine, and copier
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory management
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional acumen
  • Outstanding negotiation skills

Experience:

  • 2 or more years of warehouse management experience and/or purchasing experience.
  • CPM certification desirable.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of related experience.

WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay range: $22 - $23.50
