Dvorak Expeditions est. 1969:  Our hiring is based on maturity, leadership qualities, people and boating skills, and a compatible personality. State law requires that you be 18 years of age and have current first aid*; advanced is preferred, and CPR certification cards are valid throughout the season (March through September).

We are responsible for hiring skilled rafting guides, and our comprehensive guide training of 14 days will prepare you to become a professional whitewater rafting guide. You will join our knowledgeable team. As a Dvorak guide, you will contribute to our success and growth as an outfitter.

DVK services and quality delivery of those services are essential. One of your foremost tasks as a field guide is the knowledge and skills that provide a safe and responsible level of expertise on the variety of rivers we run. As one of our guides, you are the first and foremost representative of our brand and business as you interact with our customers daily. DVK's success and good reputation are achieved by the quality of your actions and the demonstration of your skills. As repeat customers make up about 65% of our guests, your impression of the guests will go a long way in marketing a successful season, now and in the future.

We will provide the best training to give you the tools for success. We will include a swift water rescue training certification for first-year guides and interns. Advanced levels of rescue training are available for new employees who need swift water rescue certification.

Some of the primary instructional areas within our May 11-24, 2024 (14-day) guide training course include:

* Equipment selection
* Maintenance and repair of equipment
* Reading river flows, lines
* Scouting and running rapids
* Rescue and evacuation techniques
* Minimum impact camping

Whitewater Rafting Skills Include:

  • Fundamental and technical whitewater strokes
  • Ferrying
  • Eddy turns
  • River hydrology
  • River Etiquette

Class Levels:

  • Beginner/Intermediate (River Class II-III),
  • Intermediate/Advanced (River Class III-V).
